Series of three articles in which Kuyper described what he calls the “the competitive system”. In particular, its individualistic origins and the extreme inequality that resulted from the system come to the fore in these articles. Socialism was not the right answer to these problems. It went too far in the other direction with its collectivism. According to Kuyper, a balance had to be found between the individual and the collective, between the free market and state control.
